Road trip
Sparky and I finished moving everything out today. (Thank you Sparky...I honestly don't know how all that crap got into the apartment, I swear it multiplied overnight, it wasn't all there when I went to sleep.) Shadow and I went on a four hour road trip to get to Mom and Dad's. Found an interesting way to calm Shadow down, although it probably wasn't a good idea to start out with (though it worked). Shadow was freaking out for a good hour when I decided to open the door and pet him. Of course, as I knew he would, he immediately crawled out of his carrier and onto my lap. Then over my shoulder and on top of the stuff that was packed in my car. I'm sure any passing motorists did a double take seeing a cat standing on top of a vacuum cleaner on my back seat. :) Either way, he explored the car at his leisure, crawled back over my shoulder, sat in my lap, and then voluntarily climbed back in his carrier. I left the door unlatched for him, but he quietly sat in his carrier for the rest of the trip. :) He's currently in my room...he's fully explored that room but he's not so sure about the rest of the house yet. He has met Eggnog and has decided he doesn't like her. She, of course, couldn't care less, she wants to play with the cat. This should be interesting...the other two cats here don't play with her, they attempt to remove her face. Stupid dog doesn't learn to leave cats alone.
Called APD today...my application has been sent to the background investigators...so let the waiting game begin! :)
