Ah, internet.

*sniff* Love that fresh internet smell. hehehehehehehe

Well....today was interesting. Woke up at the buttcrack of dawn on D's couch and realized that it was the last day I had to do that. Yea!!! Drove to my new apartment complex, realized they were still closed, swore, found some breakfast, went back, signed a bunch of papers and gave them the last of my money, but FINALLY, I got my new shiny keys to my new shiny apartment. Or so I thought. :)

Took my new shiny keys to my apartment and parked, then walked up to my door to find a child's tricycle in the "yard" outside. Ok....and next to the door was a planter's box full of trash. Lovely. Open the door and see that the floor hasn't been vacuumed, the mirrors covering the laundry room have smudges, a child's handprint is on the mirror in the study, something blew up in the microwave, the stovetop isn't all put together, and, oh yea, the electricity isn't on. Wonderful. Knock at the door, open it up to find a maintenance man...he walked in to tell me that he was going to fix the tract for the sliding mirrors over the laundry room...but then he kinda stopped and turned around in a circle looking at the place with a horrified look on his face. lol He just looked around and asked, "They didn't clean???" Nope. He said that the workers were supposed to come in over the weekend and paint and clean. Well, they painted. Cleaning, not so much. He ran off to the management team and said he'd be back. (I love this maintenance man, he's the bomb)

He came back later and said that he was sorry, they were talking to the cleaning people, blah blah blah. I really didn't care. lol I'd already been told that the moving people hadn't bothered to call them back (Monday was just starting out bad) so I'd already decided that I'd go to Katy and get Shadow and everything else on my days off, deal with the moving company when I returned. I went to the management office where the manager couldn't stop apologizing for the mix-up. She said that the people who painted had checked off that they had cleaned as well. Bastards. Either way, the apartment is being cleaned today (or it damn well better be) and I set up the movers (again, they damn well better be) for Wednesday before work. Meh!

Other than all that, the apartment will suit me nicely, it's nice and big and fluff.

Sounds familiar. When I moved in my apartment I found boxes of cereal in the kitchen, bags of trash left on the floor in the living room and the little storage shed on my patio had a pile of trash up to my knees.

Hope your experience there gets better.
